WIPIT advises Harris Computer on the acquisition of the TECVIA Group. The transaction strengthens Harris Computer’s market position in the field of software solutions and digital infrastructure.

A WIPIT team co-led by Prof. Dr. Hans-Eric Rasmussen-Bonne and Andreas Michael provided comprehensive legal advice to Harris Computer Germany GmbH ("Harris") on the acquisition of TECVIA Holding GmbH (formerly Springer Fachmedien) ("TECVIA") from Swiss asset manager Unigestion and other shareholders. TECVIA is one of the leadingpan-European providers of content and software for training and education solutions in the mobility sector. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

 

Harris, a global provider of industry-specific software and part of Canada's Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU), is expanding its European portfolio with this transaction to include the field of mobility training, there by entering a new, highly specialized market segment.

 

Headquartered in Munich, TECVIA employs around 430 people across five countries and serves more than 1.6 million learner drivers annually. TECVIA Group includes the publishinghouses Heinrich Vogel and Wendel Verlag in Germany, Codes Rousseau and Planète Permis in France, Editorial Tráfico Vial in Spain, and Hubert Ebner Verlag inAustria.

 

With the acquisition of TECVIA, Harris continues its long-term growth strategy of investing in highly specialized, business-critical industry software companies and expanding its European portfolio.
